Document the furniture
Count each piece and describe size. A small loveseat, reclining sofa, large sectional, dining chair, and ottoman require different time and access.
Photograph the whole piece, visible spots, cushions, and any manufacturer label that remains. Do not remove labels or experiment with new products before the appointment.
Clear safe access
Move small personal items, electronics, throws, and fragile decor. Keep a path available around the furniture and tell the team about tight stairs, elevators, parking, or building rules.
Heavy furniture movement should be discussed in advance instead of assumed.
Share previous treatment
Tell the cleaner about protectors, household spotters, rental-machine work, odor products, dye transfer, water rings, or earlier professional cleaning.
That history can change testing and method selection, especially for natural or delicate fibers.

Should I vacuum first?
Ask the team. Light loose-debris removal can help, but the service plan may already include the preparation needed.
Do I need to remove cushions?
Leave the furniture intact unless instructed otherwise. Note whether cushions are loose, attached, reversible, or damaged.
